Literally minutes before, this camp had been functioning normally - now
this was all that visibly remained. Blue gate is the nearest camp to Newbury
itself which usually made it first stop for the Bailiffs on their rounds - and
sometimes last stop as well. Obviously it was pointless unloading possessions
simply to load them up again an hour or two later - much better to sit
and wait for a bit.
